Are You Interested in Using Population Science Cohort Data for Collaborative Research?

We welcome proposals for collaborative research that use data from our Population Science studies, including the Cancer Prevention Studies.

If you’re an investigator interested in using cohort data from surveys, biospecimens, or both, to conduct a study, see the Department of Population Science Data Access Policies and Procedures.

Here’s what to expect.

Overview of Process

  • The first step is to fill out an online form that includes a short bio of your training and experience (maximum 300 words) and a single paragraph (maximum 300 words) of your research idea.

  • A Population Science investigator will provide an initial evaluation of your research idea.

  • It may take up to 8 weeks before you know whether you've been invited to submit a full proposal. You may contact cohort.data@cancer.org with questions related to your request.|

  • If requested, submit a full research proposal by email. In certain scenarios, you may be required to submit additional information.

  • If your project is approved, we'll initiate a Research Collaboration Agreement that your institution will review and sign to allow access to data and/or specimens for your approved project.

Note:?All approved projects may be subject to fees for use of data and biospecimens to offset staff time and specimen storage, processing, and shipping costs (not including assays).
