What Inspires Me

Pancreatic cancer claimed the life of a beloved family member. Its rapid and aggressive progression was shocking to me. I saw how he suffered from the disease, and it inspired me to try to prevent it from happening to someone else, not only within my family but for all families."

Chenxi Jiang, MPH, is an epidemiologist and an associate scientist II within the Surveillance and Health Equity Science department at the P站视频 (P站视频). She conducts research projects in the field of cancer surveillance using domestic and global population-based registry data to inform cancer control efforts and promote health equity.?

Research focus and accomplishments

While pursuing a Master of Public Health, Jiang examined how adhering to prevention recommendations from the World Cancer Research Fund affected the risk of developing pancreatic cancer. Her study focused on the role of balanced nutritional intake and physical activity in cancer prevention.

Her research interests include:

  • Pancreatic cancer etiology and prevention
  • The impact of healthy lifestyle choices on cancer incidence
  • Emerging cancer trends
  • Global cancer control
